Miami-Dade and Broward County Schools Earn "A" Grades for 2024
Significant Improvements in Florida school grades; especially in Miami-Dade and Broward
The 2024 Florida school grades have been released and both Miami-Dade and Broward County schools attained an "A" grade by the Florida Department of Education, really setting in stone the huge steps forward in educational quality across the Sunshine State. For Miami-Dade, this was its fifth "A" grade in a row; for Broward, its first since 2011—a remarkable turnaround.
The good news did not stop there. The increases in Florida school grades continued, with 6 percent more schools receiving "A" grades, and the number of those receiving "D" or "F" grades decreased. Now, a whopping 64% of Florida schools have "A" or "B" grades—up from 57% just a year ago. Improvements were uniform in all categories and included charter schools.
These successes underline what important roles rigorous education standards can play toward betterment within our communities. Parents and students alike must take pride in these achievements, because they are evidence of the tireless efforts of committed educators, administrators, and policymakers to provide an enabling environment for effective learning.
